A couple of familiar faces have returned to the Norwalk restaurant and bar scene.Buckley Ryan, the former owner of Cogburns, and B.J. Lawless, who has managed and tended bar at several popular Norwalk eateries, have teamed up to open B. J. Ryan's at 57 Main St. in Norwalk. The restaurant, which opened last week, features a varied menu and an extensive wine and beer list."I'm excited that we finally opened after such a long process," Lawless said. "My first bartending job was at Cogburns and right."When we started looking for a place, I knew I wanted to be back in Norwalk," Ryan said. "We felt it was a home run."The interior is brick and wood, and an oversized, refurbished 1902 cash register sits behind the bar. Several flat screen televisions are scattered throughout the establishment, however visitors are immediately drawn to the dozens of black-and-white photos of restaurants in surrounding towns. (Buckley) and I have been friends ever since. We were looking for a pl ace for a while and we found this. It all just came together."Ryan owned Cogburns around the corner on River Street from 1989 to 1999. He is familiar with the Wall Street neighborhood of Norwalk and is happy to be back in the business.
